ABOUT THE PROJECT:
The following booklets were created in collaboration with the Tierra de Paz Foundation for student populations in Northern Cauca, Colombia. Tests were conducted in various educational subjects, revealing low levels of academic knowledge, particularly in Mathematics and Spanish. In response to this, the team developed these reinforcement guides.
THE PROCCESS:
One of the key focal points of the project was to ensure that the illustrations had a connection to the people and the territory. Therefore, character design was a vital component of the process. Given that the Northern Cauca region has a significant population of Afro and indigenous individuals, it was decided that one character would represent the Afro community, and the other would represent the indigenous community. Two teachers would accompany the reader throughout the guide's development.
